The book on culinary diplomacy “Ukraine. Food and History” came as a result of partnership between їzhakultura, an information and education project, їzhak publishing house which specialises in the history of food in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute.
The book presents national culinary traditions as part of the country’s intangible cultural heritage, it tells a popular story of Ukrainian cuisine and unique regional culinary traditions. The historical account is complemented by some of the most popular Ukrainian food recipes. The recipes were specially developed by professional Ukrainian master-chefs.
Їzhak is an independent publishing house which specialises in gastronomy. The publishing house exists as part of їzhakultura, an academic information project, which was created by Artem Braichenko and Olena Braichenko with aim to popularising important academic developments in the field of gastronomy and supporting and promoting Ukrainian academics who work in the field of food studies.
